The RAM-HOL-UN8BU consists of a spring loaded holder and 1" rubber ball connected to the back of the base. Included are extra easy access grip knobs, located on the back of the holder for quick release of your tablet. The RAM-HOL-UN8BU expands and contracts for perfect fit of most 7" tablets.

Great with the TRIPLTEK 7 Pro and TRIPLTEK 8 Pro

This cradle is a great way to hold a TRIPLTEK 7 Pro or TRIPLTEK 8 Pro.  However, rubber fingertips that hold the sides of the device do take-up a little space on the sides. 

Comparison with RAM-HOL-TAB12U
The RAM-HOL-TAB12U holds my TRIPLTEK 8 Pro slightly more securely than the RAM-HOL-UN8BU does.  Also, it is easy to install the TRIPLTEK 8 Pro into the RAM-HOL-TAB12U with one hand.  It takes 2 hands to install anything into the RAM-HOL-UN8BU.  However, the RAM-HOL-UN8BU uses a little less space and holds the TRIPLTEK 8 Pro plenty securely for use in a sailplane.  The RAM-HOL-TAB12U can be mounted directly to the instrument panel - it doesn't have a ball mounted directly to the back of it.  The RAM-HOL-UN8BU is only available with a ball on the back - so it can't be mounted directly to an instrument panel.  Both cradles work great on a RAM mounting ARM.

Included Tether
The included stretchy (like a very thick rubber band) RAM-HOL-UN8TU Tether is usually not required, but can be used to make the holder more secure.  It is great for use on a bicycle or motorcycle.  It take time to attach the tether, so I doubt it is used often, but it does make it nearly impossible for the device to fall out of the mount - which is great.
