RAM® Double Ball Diamond Plate Mount - A Size Long
Articulated Arm, Long, "A" Size

The RAM-A-101U-B consists of a long length double socket arm and two diamond bases. The diamond bases measure 2.43" x 1.31" diamond base and contain two holes 1.912" from center to center, positioned at both ends of the diamond base. The hole pattern found on the diamond bases will connect to many RAM cradles, as well as third party cradles including mounts with the industry standard AMPS hole pattern. Designed into the mount is a 0.56" diameter patented rubber ball and socket system with adjustment points at both socket ends of the arm.

Articulated Aluminum Arm, Length: 4 5/8" (12 cm) from base plate to base plate, The arm is 3.25 inches (83 mm) from ball center to ball center, 2 Aluminum base plates with small 9/16" (14mm) balls, weight: 3.1 oz (88 g), Diamond shaped mounting plates are 1.25" (31.8 mm) x 2.5" (63.5 mm).  Mounting hardware not included.  This "A" sized mount is significantly smaller than the large "B" sized mounts below.  The base plates have the same footprint, but the arms are very different.  I recommend this "A" sized mount for most applications.  The "B" sized mounts are nice when a longer reach is desired.  The "B" sized components are more stiff than the "A" sized parts.  Some people prefer the "B" sized parts for that reason.  Most people find that the "A" sized components work fine for holding a Pocket PC in an aircraft or automobile, however, I have received some returns due to the balls coming off.  I therefore recommend the larger "B" sized arms for most soaring applications.
