Cable for connecting NanoPower Cable or S7, S8, S80, S10, or S100 Variometer to Naviter Oudies of Hardware Version Y
This cable connects a NanoPower Cable (for use with LXNAV Nano) or the PDA port on a S7, S8, S80, S10, or S100 Variometer to a Naviter Oudie and Oudie 2 and Oudie IGC units with hardware version Y. It passes 5V power and data.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
- Oudie2 "Ver R" - Use LXNAV-CC-NP-Oudie2-R2
This cable is compatible with new "Rev2", "Ver R" Oudie2 units which started shipping in about October of 2019. They have software serial numbers greater than 25xxx, 26xxx and 27xxx. They have a home screen that shows a large color image of an Oudie in front of clouds and "Click here to start" at the top of the screen and Language, Autorun, Calibrate, and USB icons on the bottom of the screen - as shown in the image below.
- Oudie, Oudie2 and Oudie IGC "Ver Y" - Use LXNAV-CC-NP-Oudie2
This cable is NOT compatible with Oudie and Oudie2 units made before about October of 2019, all Oudie IGC units. They display "Ver Y" in the About screen. They have a home screen with large SeeYou Mobile and ConnectMe icons - as shown in the image below.
To check the hardware version of your Oudie, from the map screen, go to Menu, Next, About. The version should be displayed at the top of the screen. If it is not displayed, you should use the Naviter Updater to update your Oudie software to the latest version.
Length: 53 inches (135 cm)
Tip: I've noticed that sometimes when doing task uploads, these new Oudie 2 units seem to connect using comm port 8. that is fine. To connect to an external device for use in flight, go to Menu, Settings, Hardware, Port Settings and select comm port 4. It is probably really using comm port 8, but displaying comm port 4 to be consistent with older Oudie units. I recommend 19200 baud.
