LX9050 with V8 Variometer
The LX9050 is a high end vario navigation system with extremely bright color 5.0” display, running on well proven LX 8000 firmware with multi-language interface. Simple and logical user interface is designed for top-level competitors, club operation as well as for gliding beginners. Instrument is preloaded with worldwide terrain maps, airspace and airports databases. The LX9050 has a built-in GPS flight that is IGC approved for all flights. LX9050 copes with complex tasks with assigned areas. During flight optimization according to FAI and OLC rules are shown.
PowerFLARM Option (built-in or external)
The LX9050 is available with integrated PowerFLARM collision avoidance system (LXNAV-LX90x0-PF). It offers the same range and FLARM perfomance found in the PowerFLARM Core - but without the ADS-B and PCAS transponder receiver found in the Core. It includes a single PowerFLARM antenna. A second antenna port (Remote Flarm B, RFB) is also provided - which can be enabled optionally (LXNAV-LX90x0-PF-RFB-Enable). A 6-pin RJ12 Flarm Display port is also included on the back of the LX9050. An optional FlarmView or FlarmView57 or FlarmLED could be connected to that port.
Since transponder and ADS-B 1090 traffic reception is very important to most U.S. soaring pilots, the LX9050 can instead be connected to a PowerFLARM Core through the round 5-pin connector on the wiring harness that attaches to the back of the LX9050 using an LXNAV-LX5-PF or LXNAV-LX5-PFCore cable. The LX9050 displays the FLARM, ADS-B and PCAS Mode C and Mode S tranponder traffic from the PowerFLARM Core on the moving map and vario display.

LX9050 RAM Mount
A customer recently ordered an LX9000 but didn't have room to mount it in his instrument panel. We decided that a RAM arm would work nicely in his sailplane. I mounted a RAM-B-238U diamond base to the back of the unit. It is a solid solution. The same could be done with an LX9050. You can also see photos of the final installation. Let me know if you want to order an LX9000 with a RAM mount. The RAM B-238U base can be mounted to the LX9000 by LXNAV or I can do it here. The 3rd photo shows the LX9000 with a short RAM arm with an overall length of 3.75 inches (95 mm). The 4th photo shows the LX9000 with a medium length RAM arm with an overall length of 5 inches (127 mm). A longer RAM with overall length of 7.4 inches (188 mm) is also available.
