This cable is designed to allow an EW microRecorder to be connected to a Socket Mobile Power Pack and to a PDA power/data cable. The complete system is very small - it's the ultimate portable GPS/PDA system. The EW microRecorder provides 5V power for the PDA. The EW microRecorder is powered by its own internal battery. GPS data is sent from the EW microRecorder to the PDA. The PDA transmit line is connected to the EW microRecorder's receive line so the PDA can send task declarations and other settings changes to the EW microRecorder. This cable does not connect directly to any PDA - A PDA power/data cable (such as the I38C-x cable for most iPAQs), or an iPAQ cradle with built-in power/data cable (such as a Nimbus cradle) is required. 2 cables exit the DB-9f connector - the 5V power cable for connection to the Socket Mobile Power Pack using a Type A USB connector and the flat phone style cable to the EW microRecorder's RJ connector. The DB-9f connector includes nuts so the PDA cable's connector can be connected to it securely.

The "m" in the model number represents the length of the flat cable between the EW microRecorder and the DB-9f connector.

The "s" in the model number represents the length of the cable from the DB-9f connector to the Type A USB connector for the EW microRecorder and the DB-9f connector.

Options
Cable length options for the 2 cables that exit the DB-9f connector. I stock versions with 0.3 m long cables and 1 m long cables. The 0.3 m length for both cables works great when you are putting the logger and battery in the glider's side-pocket and mounting the PDA and GPs antenna remotely. The 1 m length version is popular because it allows more flexibility in locating the logger, battery and DB-9f connector.
