G-Meter, -5 to +10 g, 57 mm (2 1/4")
NOTE: This item is not currently available. I hope it will be available again in the future - but I don't know when.
Accelerometer measures G forces acting on the airframe during turbulent or aerobatic maneuvers. One pointer gives a continuous reading, the other two indicate maximum positive and negative loads. Easy to reset by pushing the reset button. All models are mechanical and offer precision, accuracy, and durability. Very easy to operate. No wiring necessary. Flying acrobatics or not, this G-Meter provides the pilot valuable information and it's nice to have for any winged airplane and helicopter without having to pay astonishing prices.
The units I have received to date are slightly conservative because they read a little bit high. When upright they read 1.1 to 1.2 g (see photos at right) and when inverted they read -1.1 to -1.2 g. That makes sense because it would lead you to think you are pulling slightly more Gs than you are actually pulling.
