FES

The FES (“Front Electric Sustainer”) system was developed by the Slovenian company LZ Design. It allows the DG1001E neo to have a solid rate of climb and enough range to get home safely or to reach an airport.

In contrast to conventional slack slides, you should ideally not fly sawtooth flight with the FES drive. Instead, depending on the situation, you only use as much energy as you need, since the power can be set quickly and easily on the speed controller.

	The FES control unit “FCU” controls the whole system and informs the pilot about battery status, speed, power and other important parameters. To start the drive it is sufficient to activate the FES main switch and turn the speed controller
	The batteries are currently still under development and are designed for a range of approx. 100km. The batteries are charged within a few hours with the chargers included in the scope of delivery. Fast charging solutions are also available if required.
	The electric motor is almost maintenance-free and has no lifespan limitation. With fully charged batteries it has an output of approx. 25-30kW. The folding propeller is specially adapted to the hull shape of the DG1001E neo in order to influence the air flow as little as possible. The propeller with spinner and folding mechanism must be checked every 50 hours.
