CPC Quick-Disconnect Couplings
These are often used as a convenient way to connect a condom catheter to relief tubing in a sailplane.  The female connector is usually used on the glider tubing side while a male connector is used on the condom catheter.  The 3/8" barb fitting can be connected to 3/8" I.D. (inner diameter) tubing available at any hardware store.  It is also the right size for connecting directly to a condom catheter.  The 2 halves of the quick-disconnect pair are connected by pushing them together until a snap is heard.  To separate them press the button on the female connector and pull them apart.  Both male and female connectors are available in versions with and without shutoff valve.  Using a connector with shutoff valve on the condom catheter will keep urine from leaking out of the connector when the connectors are separated.  You may, or may not want a shutoff valve on the glider side.  You would not want to use a shutoff valve on the glider side if you want the tubing to drain out the bottom of the glider, or into a collection bag when disconnected.  You would want a shutoff valve on the glider side if the tubing runs up hill to avoid spills.
