Application
Indicates the aircraft's vertical speed (rate of climb, rate of descent). The variometer is the most valuable aid on all types of aircraft for pilots whishing to fully exploit the prevailing thermal conditions. This variometer has a linear dial calibration so that it can be used with a MacCready ring (see below).
