VHF Antenna for Installation in Fiberglass Aircraft
118 to 136 MHz
This antenna was developed especially for fiberglass aircraft. Most new carbon fiber sailplanes use fiberglass in the vertical fin so that antennas may be mounted inside. This is necessary because radio waves do not pass through carbon fiber well. This antenna is generally attached to the inside of the fin using fiberglass and epoxy resin. For optimal reception it should be mounted vertically. It is flexible to allow it to conform to complex surfaces, but should be mounted so that it is as straight as possible.
