|BC-179-02||Desktop Charging Stand -
Included with the IC-A14 and IC-A14S. For use with IC-A14 and IC-A14S radios. Charges the BP-232N battery in about 12 hours. A BC-147SE15 120VAC wall charger is included in the box with the charging stand. The charging stand is also compatible with the CP-22 cigarette lighter cable.
|BP-261||Battery Case for IC-A14
Battery case for AA (LR6)◊6 alkaline cells. Highly recommended as a low cost, long lasting backup battery pack for use in the event you forget to charge the battery on the radio. AA batteries not included. The battery pack adds about 1.6 inches to the length of the radio.
|BP-232N||Li-Ion Battery Pack,
Standard battery pack for IC-A14 and IC-A14S. It is included with those radios. Provides about 18 hours of operating time when on standby 90% of the time, transmitting 5% of the time and receiving 5% of the time.
7.4V, 2000 mAh
|CP-22||Cigarette Lighter Power
For use with the BC-179 charging stand and IC-A14 and IC-A14S radios. Input: 12 / 24V
Note: The manual states that the radio must be turned-off for charging.
|CS-A14||PC Programming Software
- ICOM Cloning System
Makes it easy to edit, save and transfer the memory contents and settings in the IC-A14 or A14S. You can upload data from an existing radio, edit the memory frequencies and 8-character text descriptions, save the data on your PC, and send the updated data to one or more radios. I love this software because it made it very easy to configure the 10 or so frequencies I use when gliding in southern Minnesota - you can see them in the screen capture images at right. It is somewhat expensive, but soaring clubs and commercial operations will find it worth the money. The software is simple and intuitive.
Note: Data can only be transferred to radios of the same type. For example you can copy data from one A14 to another A14 or from one A14S to another A14S. But it is not possible to copy data from an A14 to an A14S or vice versa.
Note: An OPC-478UC USB cable is required and not included with the software.
Same as supplied with the transceiver. For IC-A4, A5, A6, A14, A14S, A23 and A24 radios.
Connector Type: BNC
Length: 20 cm (7.8 inches)
Note: It is not clear to me whether or not handheld radio antennas are interchangeable. The reason I wonder is because I have had a variety of handheld radios standing next to each other on a table. It was interesting to me that although the radio units were of different heights and the antennas were of different lengths, the overall heights of the radio and antenna together were all about the same. That made me suspect that the overall antenna length includes antenna sections both inside the radio itself, and the external antenna. My suspicion is enhanced by the fact that a 1/4 wave aircraft radio antenna from Larsen is 22 7/16 inches (570 mm) long. However, I also suspect that this ICOM antenna would be a good substitute for any other handheld radio antenna with BNC connectors that is about the same length. I am not an expert on radio antennas.
For use with IC-A22, IC-A3, IC-A6, IC-A14, IC-A14S, and IC-A24. There is a swiveling alligator clip on back of speaker/microphone. Great for use in a sailplane! Keep the radio in the side-pocket and clip the speaker/microphone to your shoulder strap.
Dimensions of body
Height: 83 mm (3.27 in)
Width: 52 mm (2.05 in)
Depth: 30 mm (1.18 in)
For use with IC-A4, A5, A6, A14, A14S, A23 and A24 radios, requires an OPC-752 (for A4), or OPC-499 (for A6, A14, A14S and A24) or PAOPC-967 (for A5 and A23) Headset Adapter
