    FilserBoomMic Boom Microphone
Dynamic gooseneck microphone for use with aircraft radios.  DIN connector not included, but the DIN connector is included with the BS4-8 speaker and wiring junction box.

This model uses the same microphone head as the Becker 1PM004 microphone.  The Becker unit has a much larger diameter and longer gooseneck and comes with a DIN connector, but it is much more expensive.  This one is a good value if you don't need the longer and stiffer gooseneck that the Becker model offers.

    Wiring Instructions
Tie the blue and shield wires to common and connect the red wire to the microphone + input.

    Dimensions
Length of Gooseneck flex arm: 305 mm (12 in)
Overall Length: 432 mm (17 in)
Diameter of gooseneck: 11 mm (0.43 in)
Length of microphone head: 83 mm (3.27 in)
Diameter of microphone head: 23.5 mm (0.93 in)
    Cable Length: 4.6 m (15 feet)

BS4-8 Speaker and Wiring Junction Box
4 Ohm speaker, 8 Watt, One DIN-5m-180 5-pin male DIN plug is included.  This box makes it very easy to connect a microphone and push-to-talk button to the radio.  The 2 DIN connectors are used to connect 1 or 2 boom microphones or aviation headsets.  Screw terminals are provided for connecting 1 or 2 push-to-talk buttons.

    Dimensions
    Length: 142 mm (5.59 in)
    Width: 93 mm (3.66 in)
    Height: 43 mm (1.69 in)

Note: This speaker has a very powerful magnet inside.  Do not mount it anywhere near a compass.  After you install it you should re-swing your compass.  The same is true for all speakers.

    DIN-5m-180 DIN Connector, 5-pin, male
For use with Filser BS4-8 Speaker and Wiring Junction Box or Becker 1PL042 Speaker and Wiring Junction Box.  The Filser BS4-8 speaker box comes with a single connector.  The Becker 1PL042 speaker box does not include a DIN connector, but the microphone does.  The 5 pins have a 180 degree sweep.

Speaker Speaker, 4 Ohm, 5 Watt
Simple speaker with cable and mounting bracket.  For use with aircraft radio or variometer.  Commonly used in single-seat gliders.  If you have room for it, I highly recommend upgrading to the higher power BS4-8 speaker above.
Note: This speaker has a powerful magnet inside.  Do not mount it anywhere near a compass.  After you install it you should re-swing your compass.  The same is true for all speakers.
    Dimensions
    Front Face: 65 x 65 mm (2.56 x 2.56 inches)
    Depth: 54 mm (2.13 inches)

    Switch-PTT-EAO Switch, Push-to-Talk
This is a very nice metal push-to-talk button for use on the control stick.  It is the same unit supplied by Walter Dittel and Filser. I have seen many low cost push-buttons used in gliders - they don't last very long. This is an industrial switch that will last for years.  It has a very positive "click" so it is obvious when it has transitioned from off to on.  Includes 3 contacts so it can be wired as normally-on or normally-off.  Most radio installations require that it be wired as normally-off (current flows when it is pressed).
Cable not included.  If you want it with a cable you can order the Dittel version.

    Dimensions
Diameter of threads: 10 mm (0.39 inches)
Diameter of button: 6.4 mm (0.25 inches)
Overall length: 35 mm (1.38 inches)
Maximum diameter inside control stick: <14 mm (0.55 inches)

    PTT-Gold PTT Gold Adapter
Push-to-talk adapter with Velcro strap.  Includes male and female microphone jacks.  Many pilots use these with handheld radios.  Most handheld aviation radios include a "Y" cable that can be used to connect an aviation headset to the handheld radio.  This unit can be used between the "Y" cable and the aviation headset.  The push-to-talk button is Velcro'd to the control stick so that it can be accessed easily.
