Data Splitter
3 x Female RJ connectors
Two of these units are required when using the CAF-302 and CAF-306
repeater along with 2 CAF-303 LCD Navigation displays. If you need
one of these you probably also need a CAA-134-1m
cable. See the connection diagram below. This splitter can
also be used to connect 2 303s to a single 302 or 302A - without the
306.
System with 302, 306 and 2 303s
If you are using 2 of the CAF-303 LCD
Navigation Display units along with a CAF-302 and CAF-306 you will also
need 2 of these CO-119 adapters and 2 of the

System with 302A and 2 303s
Two CAF-303 LCD Navigation Display units can be connected to a single
302A. You would need a single CO-119 splitter. Each 303
comes with a CAA-134-1m cable that is 1 m long.
You will probably need a much longer cable to go from the splitter to
the remote 303. 3 m should do it. I can make a 3 m long CAA-134-1m

| CAA-128 |
Cradle for
Compaq Aero 1500 Pocket PC
This is an extremely nice cradle. It is worth the money. It holds the Pocket PC
securely and does not have any cables protruding beneath the cradle.
The power/data cable exits the back of the cradle.
Included: Cradle with short cable exiting the back of the
cradle with an RJ connector.
Required Accessories: CAA-098
cable and 048-0103-ND
RJ adapter or CAA-127
adapter plate with RJ connectorThe cradle can be mounted in the glider
using either a gooseneck or a RAM articulated arm. For panel
mounting, most pilots prefer the gooseneck because it is easier to
adjust in flight. Some prefer the the RAM articulated
arms for their stiffness, but they require 2 hands to adjust. RAM arms are great for mounting on
the cockpit sidewall or canopy rail. Goosenecks are not designed
for 90 bends while supporting a load. You may use any RAM arm
option from the RAM web
page. Any RAM diamond shaped mounting plate (such as the
RAM-A-238 (included in the
RAM-A-101 assembly),
RAM-B-238, or
RAP-B-238) can be mounted to the back of
the cradle. The GnBase2 was designed to mount the GNeck2 gooseneck
to this cradle. RAM arms will not mount on the CAA-127
adapter plate, so you will probably want a 048-0103-ND
RJ adapter Gooseneck Kit Option
When placing the order you can select the optional gooseneck
assembly for $264.85 (including cradle). It includes everything you need
to mount the cradle and connect it to your GPS-NAV, 302, or 302A.
You can select from 3 in (7.6 cm), 6 in (15.2 cm) or 9 in (22.9 cm) gooseneck
lengths. It is assembled before it ships. Below is a list of
the items included in the kit.
RAM Articulated Arm Kit Option
When placing the order you can select the optional RAM-A-101 arm
assembly for $225.90 (including cradle). It includes
everything you need to mount the cradle and connect it to your

GNeck2 |
Gooseneck 3, 6 or 9 inch
1/8-27 NPSM Threads,
The GNeck2 gooseneck is great for mounting a Pocket PC or GPS in a
glider. Most pilots mount the base of the gooseneck in the
instrument panel. It may be mounted through a hole in the panel
with a nut on the back, or it may be mounted to the optional
GnBase2, or in an instrument hole using a
Gn57mmPlate2. The
GnBase2 can also be used to connect the other end of the gooseneck
to the back of a Cambridge CAA-128
cradle. The optional RAM-GN3-238
adapter was designed to allow this GNeck2 gooseneck to be mounted to the
back of any RAM cradle. Gooseneck length options are 3 in (7.6
cm), 6 in (15.2 cm) or 9 in (22.9 cm). This gooseneck is much more
rugged than the RAP-105-6DD flex arm.
2 nuts are included.
Weights:
- GNeck-3in: 1.4 oz (40 g)
- GNeck-6in: 2.5 oz (71 g)
- GNeck-9in: 3.3 oz (94 g)

Gooseneck Base, Round
This aluminum base plate was designed for mounting the
GNeck2 gooseneck to the instrument panel. It
can also be used to connect the other end of the gooseneck to the back
of a Cambridge CAA-128 or
CAA-130 cradle. It is 1 3/16" (30 mm)
in diameter. It is nice for use on thin instrument panels where
mounting the gooseneck through a hole in the panel is not ideal. Mounting screws included.
The screw holes are threaded so no nuts are required. Weight: 0.4 oz (11 g) |

Articulated Arm, Short,
"A" Size
Articulated Aluminum Arm, Length: 3 1/8 inches (80 mm) from base
plate to base plate, It can be connected to the back of the CAA-128
cradle. The arm is 1.75 inches (44 mm) from ball center to
ball center, 2 Aluminum base plates with small 9/16" (14mm) balls,
weight: 2.4 oz (68 g), Diamond shaped mounting plates are 1.25" (31.8
mm) x 2.5" (63.5 mm). Mounting hardware not included. This
"A" sized mount is significantly smaller than the large "B" sized mounts
below. The base plates have the same footprint, but the arms are
very different. I recommend this "A" sized mount for most
applications. The "B" sized mounts are nice when a longer reach is
desired. |
